Marimo Moss Care Guide
Hello there. I'm Stephanie. I made your item by hand, and I really hope you like it! My Marimo Moss Care Guide is still in production and is coming soon. In the meantime, here are some top tips for looking after your marimo.
Leave water out overnight before adding your moss ball, or add the tap safe solution included in your kit and wait 6 hours. Either process removes chlorine and makes the water safe for your moss ball.
It may be squished from transport. This is okay. Just pop it into the water and if it doesn't sort itself out in 24 hours, just give it a gentle roll in the palms of your hands.
Change water fortnightly
Give it a gently roll in your hands once a week to help it keep it's beautiful, bouncy shape.
Moss balls hail from the bottom on cool, dark lakes in Japan. Therefore keep them out of direct sunlight and not aboce 18-20 degrees. During especially hot spells, you can store it in the fridge for a few hours to keep it cool.
If your moss all isn't happy it may develop brown patches. Resolve this by turning them over and repositioning their container to somewhere with more or less light, deoending on their present situation. The brown patches should clear up.
If they start turning black, this isn't usually a good sign. You may need to review how you prepare and keep your water and/or purchase some aquatic plant fertiliser.
